Honey Harvesting Workshop, London

Get hands-on in this honey extraction workshop. Guided by our expert honey harvester, you'll uncap, extract and pack your very own jar of raw honey fresh from the hive — plus learn all about bees, honey, hive by-products and beeswax along the way.
What's included:
- Hands-on honey extraction
- A jar of the honey you've harvested to take home
- Expert guidance throughout
Duration: 1.5 hours.
Group size: up to 20 people.
Good for: beginners, beekeepers in training, honey lovers, groups and couples, or anyone after something a bit different (min age 14).
When it runs: September to March.
No drink is included, but our Hiver Taproom is right next door — and Maltby Street Market too — so you can carry on the day with food and drink afterwards.

Cider Making Workshop, London

Ever wondered how cider goes from pip to pint? In this hands-on cider making workshop at our Bermondsey taproom, you'll prep, press, and produce your own cider from start to finish — no experience needed.
What's included:
- Prepare and press your own apples
- Taste a variety of ciders to help you find your preferred flavour profile,
- Apple tasting
- Cheese and crackers snack plate
- Bottles of your own cider to take home.
Duration: 2.5 hours.
Group size: max 12 people.

What a fantastic experience! We took part in the Honey Harvesting and beer tasting at Hiver Taproom, and it was such a treat. Getting a first-hand look at how honey is collected was genuinely fascinating, and the team were so knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. We only tried one beer — made with honey — but it was excellent, smooth and flavourful. The staff made the experience relaxed and fun, and the location itself is lovely, in an area I didn't even know existed! A real hidden gem. What's the difference between the Honey Harvesting and Cider Making workshops?
Honey Harvesting (1.5 hours, £35, min age 14) is a hands-on honey extraction session — you'll uncap, extract and pack your own jar of honey to take home. Cider Making (2.5 hours, £68, 18+) is a hands-on cider pressing session — you'll prep, press and bottle your own cider, with a cider and apple tasting and a cheese and crackers plate included. Both run September to March at our Bermondsey site.
Do I need any experience?
No — both workshops are beginner-friendly. Honey Harvesting also suits beekeepers in training and honey lovers; Cider Making suits anyone curious about how cider is made.
Is there a minimum age?
Honey Harvesting: 14+. Cider Making: 18+ (as it includes cider tasting).
What should I wear or bring?
Aprons are provided, so no need for anything special — just wear something comfortable that you wouldn't mind getting a little mucky (unlikely, but possible!).
Is food or drink included?
Honey Harvesting doesn't include a drink, but you'll take home a jar of your own harvested honey, and our taproom is right next door (plus Maltby Street Market) if you'd like to carry on the day.
Cider Making includes a cider and apple tasting plus a cheese and crackers plate, and you'll take home your own bottles of cider.
How do I book, or redeem a gift voucher?

Can I change or cancel my booking?
If your booking is more than 2 weeks away, contact us at experiences@hiverbeers.com to request a change — we're able to change your booking once outside of the 2-week window. We're unable to make changes within 2 weeks of your session.
