A Royal Visit to the Fabal Beerhall

A Royal Visit to the Fabal Beerhall

On a Thursday in March 2026 we opened the doors of the Fabal Beerhall to two very special visitors.

The Hiver and Fabal team were delighted to welcome the Prince and Princess of Wales to the Beerhall to learn more about both brands.

We were one of two arches chosen to represent the Bermondsey Beer Mile, alongside our neighbours at Southwark Brewing, as part of a Royal visit to Southwark.

Their Royal Highnesses met our founder, Hannah Rhodes, and members of the team to learn about the business and its distinctive approach to brewing, it's all British sourcing policy and how the business continues to evolve to meet the challenges of being a small business in 2026.

They tried our locally sourced honey, met the bar team before sitting down for a tasting of our beers and cider. His Royal Highness commented that he enjoyed the beer and took a keen interest in our UK sourcing policy, questioning Matt, our Ops Manager, regarding our Fabal Lager as to whether we had experienced any purchasing challenges in recent years. Her Royal Highness mentioned her own bee hives and asked whether we are familiar with tree ivy honey which, coincidentally, is the honey we use to brew our Hiver IPA.

It was such a special day to share as a team and we feel really lucky to have been selected to represent the Beer Mile that we love being a part of.

Wacth how the day unfolded here:
